Qigong
Qigong (or Chi Kung) - a form of mindful movement - means the cultivation of energy and is considered the "Grandmother of Tai Chi". This gentle form of Chinese health exercise releases tension and improves health and wellbeing by combining soft, flowing movement with deep breathing and regulating the mind. It can also include stretching (Taoist yoga), clearing exercises (Dao-Yin), self-massage (Do-In), standing meditation, seated exercises and floorwork.
Magpie Qigong
Just as the magpie loves to collect shiny objects, over many years of studying different styles of Qigong I have been picking out the jewels and treasures that I find and bringing these together to share in my classes and workshops. These are the techniques and exercises that I find most effective or enjoyable when practicing Qigong for health and wellbeing and they can help to:
-
Improve posture, flexibility, co-ordination and balance
-
Improve circulation and breathing
-
Calm the mind and improve concentration
-
Reduce stress levels
-
Increase vitality and wellbeing

In addition to its health benefits, Qigong also provides a powerful gateway for spiritual development.
